Prepping for Halloween 2018!

Hi loves!

IT’S OCTOBER!! AKA: THE BEST MONTH OF THE YEAR! I am so excited it’s autumn, and finally time for Halloween fun! I wasn’t sure how I was going to top last year’s Halloween makeup/costume. If you recall, I was a “Hooked Siren” – a glam mermaid with a bloody face wound, complete with a real fish hook “stuck” in my face. If you didn’t read that post last year, click on my “related” link to view some pictures!

Anyway, I didn’t know how I would top the mermaid look, BUT I think I will be able to top it this year! I decided I would be a glam-gore fortune teller! I am excited because I can take this idea in so many directions. If you look up any sort of fortune teller makeup tutorial on YouTube, there are so many amazing variations of the look! I am not sure if I want to go the way of a super creepy, bloody possessed fortune teller, or go the way of a glam fortune teller who cries blood from the horror she sees! UGH! The possibilities are endless!

Today before work, I stopped at Wal-Mart to pick up a few items to help complete my look! Now I love Spirit Halloween (one of the huge Halloween retailers in NJ), HOWEVER, Wal-Mart has amazing deals on all of the same makeup and accessories you can find at a Halloween store. And to make it better, Wal-Mart has an amazing selection of actual costumes at a fraction of the cost of a popular Halloween specialty store. Nonetheless, Wal-Mart didn’t carry anything specific to a fortune teller costume, but they did have some amazing Wet N Wild products and sale jewlery that will help me transform for my Halloween parties!

I bought some new liquid latex since I’ve had my other bottle for a few years now. Additionally, I bought a Wet N Wild multi-use white face pencil! This will be useful for me if I decide to draw a third eye or moon on my forehead. I found the choker set on clearance in the jewelry department for $3. The black top choker has a single gold coin attached to it, and the bottom charmed choker has a few different coins and bits that are reminscent of a fortune teller too.

I also purchased this Wet N Wild brand glitter palette in the color scheme “Heavy Metals”. It includes silver, gold, black, red, and copper which I think would fit well with my theme since they are all pretty neutral. I’ve never used any of the Wet N Wild glitter palettes, and hope it works well. This is a part of their Fantasy Makers collection/line they release every fall before Halloween.

In the background you can see some Wet N Wild stick-on face gems I am also planning on using somewhere on my face. Possibly outlining the tops of my eyebrows with them, or using them to decorate other parts of my body.

I borrowed some clothes and costume pieces from my neighbors, so I am basically set! All I need are some hoop earrings, false lashes, and face paint and I will be ready to rock and roll! I have a big Halloween party I’ll be attending on the 20th, and I really want to show off my makeup when I go!

What are you being for Halloween? I would love to hear your ideas down below!

Rose Gold Eyes: Makeup for Friendsgiving

Hello and Happy Friday! In my last post, I shared with you all some of the fun items I grabbed from Harmon’s Face Values (read about it here: Shopping at Harmon Face Values), and how I was trying to recreate a look I saw Shaaanxo do on YouTube. I promised I would show you the final look I came up with, and I think it came out really nice! This picture doesn’t do my eyes justice because they were super pearlized and rose gold, but this is the only picture I have of the finished look. Overall, I was looking to make my face have a bronze glow.

Here are all the products I used:

  1. Revlon Colorstay foundation in “220 Natural Beige”
  2. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in  “light”
  3. Rimmel London Stay Matte powder in “011 Creamy Natural”
  4. e.l.f. cosmetics bronzer in “warm”
  5. theBalm cosmetics HotMama blush

  1. Nyx microbrow pencil in “taupe”
  2. Essence cosmetics brow gel in “browny brows”

  1. Maybelline Colour Tattoo Crayon Eyeshadow in “Barely Beige”
  2. Colourpop Cosmetics Supershock eyeshadow in “Weenie”
  3. BH Cosmetics BubzBeauty palette using shades “Able”, “Grateful”,”Optimistic”, and “Thoughtful”
  4. Colourpop creme eyeliner pencil in “Get Paid”
  5. theBalm cosmetics Mad Lash mascara

  1. Wet N Wild PerfectPout Gel Lip Liner in “Bare to Comment”
  2. Wet N Wild Catsuit Liquid Lipstick in “Coral Corruption”

I really love how well this look came out. It was definitely different than the tutorial I watched, but I also used a bunch of different products so nothing was exactly the same color. Nonetheless, it was successful and I would definitely recreate those eyes again when I go out, or for the summer time.

The Wet N Wild lip liner and liquid lipstick are INCREDIBLE. They have so much staying power, and they are gorgeous colors. I am really happy I bought them since I will get a lot of use out of them! The Rimmel powder is really nice too, and it keeps my face looking matte and one color after applying my liquid foundation & concealer. I suggest picking them up if you see them at the drugstore because they really are amazing for a drugstore price tag.

Do you like the look I created? How do you like to use rose gold tones?

Until next time xoxo

Shopping at Harmon Face Values

Hello lovelies! I hope your afternoon is going swimmingly. I recently took a trip to a Harmon Face Values and wanted to share with you all what I purchased! If you don’t live in an area with a Harmon Face Values, it is basically a drug store that sells everything beauty, hair, and health related. I went looking for the new Wet N Wild Catsuit Liquid Lipsticks, in addition to a few items I needed, and some items I saw Shaaanxo (the YouTuber) use in a makeup tutorial I want to try to recreate! I will post selfies of that recreation tonight or tomorrow because my plan is to recreate the look for a Friendsgiving dinner I will be attending tonight. Here is a list of what I purchased:

  1. Harmon Face Values Cleansing Make-Up Remover Towelettes
  2. Rimmel London Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder – Color 011 Creamy Natural
  3. Clean & Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser Sensitive Skin

  1. Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow – Color 35 Tough as Taupe
  2. Maybelline Color Tattoo Crayon Eyeshadow – Color 700 Barely Beige

  1. Wet N Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit – Color 922B Coral Corruption
  2. Wet N Wild PerfectPout Gel Lip Liner – Color 651B  Bare to Comment
  3. Wet N Wild PerfectPout Gel Lip Liner – Color 654C Never Petal Down

I was very happy to find some of the newest Wet N Wild releases left at the store. I’m always a little disappointed because everytime Wet N Wild releases something new, they sell out in the drugstores so quickly and are never restocked. I really wanted to try the color I bought – Coral Corruption – in addition to Rebel Rose which they were all sold out of! These new gel lip liners were the last ones left, and were in the colors I wanted to try out of the ones I’ve seen online (to be honest, the liners were an impulse buy but I love the colors).

I’ve heard amazing reviews of the Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadow pots and crayons, and I’m really hoping they act as a solid eyeshadow base for the bronze-y, rose gold eye look I am trying out today. Shaaanxo used a Color Tattoo pot in her video, so I decided to grab both the crayon and the pot and see which one I like better.

In the video of the makeup look I am going to attempt to recreate, Shaaanxo used a Rimmel Translucent powder. But when I was at the store, I decided to try a natural-toned face powder since I’ve been using an Essence Cosmetics translucent powder for a few months now. I am interested to see how alike and different they are. I can’t wait to try all of this makeup out tonight and see how it looks, as well as how long it lasts on my face and throughout dinner.

I will make a post about the finished look and a link back to this article within the next few days, in addition to a review/first impression description of all of the new products I used! Let’s hope it all works out! ❤

Until next time xoxoxo

Wet n Wild Fall Collection 2016!

Oh my gosh guys! I am so so terribly sad my summer break is over in about two weeks, but FALL IS COMING and I could not be any more excited! Trust me, I still need more beach days, lemonade, and summer time fun, but the fall season is approaching which means beauty companies are dropping all of their beautiful fall-inspired lines. Mauves, burgundies, plums, chocolate browns, and burnt oranges are all colors reminiscent of fall, and I am more than ecstatic to see these colors highlighted in fall makeup.

Fortunately, Wet n Wild (ONE OF MY FAV DRUGSTORE BRANDS), just released their fall makeup collection, and I am drooling over some of the products they released! They released two eyeshadow trios, four new matte lip colors, and four new Color Icon Colored Mascaras. Ugh! They are so gorgeous. Additionally, for the first time EVER they are selling a beauty box for the fall collection, which includes the products mentioned above, plus two of their best-selling highlighters!

As the picture shows, you can grab the whole fall collection plus two MegaGlo highlighters for $28.99, when the box would retail for $37.99! I really wish I could purchase the whole box, but since I am broke and have other things I need to pay for, I will have to hunt for these products in Walgreens, Walmart, and CVS. The two eyeshadow trios are the ones I am most excited for! Here are close-ups of them!

Plaid to the Bone trio

The two trios include the mauvey plum Velour Vixen trio, and the green taupey teal Plaid to the Bone trio. The Velour Vixen trio colors are usually within the family of colors I find myself reaching for all of the time, but these colors are not shades I have in my collection yet so I definitely will be picking this one up! Additionally, I am usually not a huge fan of green and teal eyeshadows on me, but the Plaid to the Bone trio looks so awesome, and since I don’t have many colors like those in my collection at all I think it would be fun to pick up and play with! The trio looks very versatile even though it includes greens and blues. I mean for $2.99 each, how could you go wrong?!

The liquid lipsticks also look like they are going to be a hit for the fall. The colors are pictured in the fall beauty box picture above, and the names include Take It Like a Vamp – a chocolate brown matte lip color; Don’t Be a Plum-Plum – a plum toned brownish matte lip color; How Fleek Is Your Love – a warm fiery red; and Too Tulip To Quit – a rosy bubblegum colored pink lip color. These colors look really versatile, and though I don’t know how Wet n Wild’s liquid lipstick formula is, it would be nice to pick one or two of these colors up to try and play with. I only own two liquid matte lipsticks, one Too Faced Melted and one ColourPop liquid lipstick. Both formulas are sort of drying (ColourPop especially), so hopefully Wet n Wild’s formula is a bit better or slightly more hydrating.

Finally, there is the four Color Icon Colored mascaras. These look really awesome and fun to play with! They come in four colors – Unbreakable BronzeGreen as a ThistleSapphire Night Live, and Glamethyst Rock. The colors I highlighted the names in are essentially the colors of the swatches on the Wet n Wild website of these mascaras. The description claims they can be used alone or on top of black mascara, but I think these four colors would look really awesome for a look created with the eyeshadow trios, or even used alone for a pop of color!

What do you think of Wet n Wild’s fall line? I hope I can go to the store and find these items. They sell out so fast at the Walgreens near my house! I am excited to try these babies, and I am also excited to see what else my favorite makeup companies will be launching for the fall season! What beauty colors or trends are you excited for this fall season? Comment below!
