New Colourpop Purchase!

It has been a minute since I’ve ordered any makeup, let alone makeup from Colourpop! I bought some pretty products I’d like to share with you guys because I love them! I haven’t had much time or reason lately to put eyeshadow on, but I did end up buying five different eyeshadows – four SuperShock formulas, and one pressed-powder formula. I also picked up a new lipstick which has been the only color I’ve been wearing lately!

So the four SuperShocks I bought are Truth, I Heart This, Ritz, and Ladybird. The pressed powder eyeshadow is Glass Bull which I’ve been wanting to try FOREVER. The lipstick is the KathleenLights x Colourpop Scorpio Moon lux lipstick.

Colors from left to right: Scorpio Moon lip, Glass Bull, Ladybird, I Heart This, Truth, Ritz

Truth SuperShock Eyeshadow

Truth is a satin finish, neutral light beige. This color is great for that “no makeup” makeup look, but also can be used as a base or can be paired with other colors.

I Heart This SuperShock Eyeshadow

I Heart This is a taupe with silver ultra-glitter. I love this color because it’s sparkly, but also subtle.

Ritz SuperShock Eyeshadow

Ritz is a sheer nude with silver glitter. It has a warmer undertone to it’s pigmentation.

Ladybird SuperShock Eyeshadow

Ladybird is a soft ivory with silver glitter. This is great by itself or as a topper.

GlassBull Pressed Powder Eyeshadow

Glass Bull is a lavender, icy-blue duochrome! It is stunning, metallic, and very pigmented.

Scorpio Moon Lux Lipstick

Scorpio Moon is a plummy rose color! It looks very subtle on my skin tone, but adds a beautiful pop of color. It doesn’t make my teeth look yellow because it has a cool undertone. This has become a new favorite of mine, and the formula is so smooth! I’ve been wearing it to auditions, and it’s a perfect audition lipstick.

I can’t wait to wear all of these colors. As you can probably infer, I bought a bunch of neutral colors. I’ve been going for a more subtle look to my makeup routine. I feel prettiest now without putting on heavy eyeshadow.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and if you were curious about swatches for these colors, I hope it helped! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Xoxo

Natural Colour(Pop) Swatches and Review

Good evening everyone! I hope you all are having as wonderful of a weekend as I am! I just arrived home from the Big Apple, and I had a really fun overnight trip with my parents. I had an audition this morning for a summer dance program (which I will write about a little later this week), but for my audition makeup I used some of my new ColourPop products!

If you haven’t read my last post, I bought the Lippie Stix in the color Aquarius, a SuperShock Eyeshadow in the color Cornelious, and a SuperShock Highlighter in the color Wisp, and I promised you all a review!

Also as I promised, I swatched them for you, so here is what they all look like in natural light!

From bottom to top: Aquarius, Cornelious, Wisp

Let me start with a review of Aquarius!

First of all, I love the name Aquarius for a lippie. I love the zodiac theme, and the name Aquarius reminds me of a hippie. A light peachy nude color sounds perfectly reflective of the 1960’s. This shade looks even better on the lips; it looks darker than it actually applies in the picture above, and it smells DELICIOUS! It’s scent is like caramel and it makes it even better to apply because it smells and looks amazing. It lasts for a decent amount of time too, and it is not too flesh-toned where it blended in with my skin.

As always, the lippie packaging is simple and cute!

Furthermore, I am SOOOOO happy I purchased Cornelious SuperShock Eyeshadow. This shade, as I predicted, is a perfect transition-crease shade! I’ve worn it three times since I received it in the mail this week, and I wore it today in my eye-makeup look as part of my audition makeup! It’s a warm brown with orange undertones, and I don’t usually like to wear orange-toned shadows, but this shadow is more brown than it is orange. It glides on super smooth. I love this shade for a natural look, or a neutral color-palette for eye makeup. I definitely recommend picking this one up!

Cornelious (It’s not actually this orange. It applies more like a warm light brown)

Finally, I need to talk to y’all about Wisp because it is GORGEOUS.

I am still learning how to apply highlighter correctly (especially creamy and liquid highlighter), and I’m still trying to find the best place in the order of my beauty routine to apply it. Nonetheless, I wore this beaut today for my audition, and it really made my face look performance ready! It is a warm, light bronze color with flecks of gold shimmer and sparkle. It is a natural color, and it laid nicely atop my foundation, and blended well with my bronzer. Lots of ColourPop customers have raved about this highlighter, and I’m excited to keep playing with it and figure out the best way to apply it.

Wisp

This color is so pretty!

As you all can see, I’ve totally been digging my latest ColourPop purchase! Not only did these products help me make a pretty makeup look for my audition, my makeup gave me a nice confidence boost walking into the audition because I felt like I was ready to perform!

If any of you are like me, you usually grab the fun, sparkly colors ColourPop offers when you fill your cart online. Next time you all shop ColourPop, I really think y’all should try some of their more neutral-toned colored products if you haven’t already! As always, ColourPop has delivered, and this is why every month I buy more and more of it!

This week, look out for a post about my audition and trip into NYC, and a post about my trip into the M.A.C. store in Times Square (I may or may not have bought my first M.A.C. shadow and pigment). I’m very excited to use my new M.A.C. products, so there will be swatches and a review of those coming soon!

Until next time beauties!

e.l.f. Lipstick Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! I hope you are having as splendid of a night as I am having! Not only did I find out today I earned all A’s and A-‘s for the fall semester, I was nominated for the Liebster Award! You can see my previous post for all of the information about that 🙂 I am feeling really happy today, and I wanted to swatch all three of the e.l.f. lipsticks I received for Christmas from my Black Friday haul, and show you how pretty these colors are!

I ordered two Moisturizing lipsticks, and I received the Ultra Matte Lip Color stick for free (it was part of their Black Friday week special).

Marsala Blush and Southern Belle are the two Moisturizing lipsticks, and Rich Red is the Ultra Matte Lip Color.

I am pleasantly surprised with the quality of these lipsticks from e.l.f.. e.l.f. is such an affordable brand, so sometime I am skeptic of how well some of their products will work. There have been some items that have not worked well for me that I ordered during Black Friday week, but others are wonderful. These lipsticks happen to be part of the wonderful category!

Marsala Blush is easily my new favorite shade! It is a rosy, mauve color with cool undertones, and is subtle enough to wear it looks really natural on my lips, but adds just enough color for people who see it to assume I am probably wearing lipstick. It looks pretty with any eyeshadow combinations I’ve done since receiving the lipstick, and it stays on pretty well. Not to mention is smells amazing, and makes your lips super soft and kissable!

Southern Belle is another Moisturizing Lipstick that I love! This color is a little more orange than Marsala Blush, and it looks really nice when I am want to rock a lip with warmer undertones. It is still subtle enough to wear everyday, and it also smells amazing and leaves my lips super soft instead of dried out!

Rich Red is a beautiful shade of red. In my New Years Eve Makeup post, I wore this shade to my friend’s New Years Eve party! I love this color! It is a little hard to apply (it takes a little extra pressure than normal lipstick), but it stayed on rather well throughout the party. It doesn’t last as long as the ColourPop lippies or Ultra Mattes do, but it was still a great shade for the holiday! The pencil tip is thin enough to wear I could also use this as a lip liner as well! I will experiment with that when I have a few dance performances during the spring semester!

Just wanted to display the sleek packaging and this cute photo of my boyfriend and I 🙂

The packaging for these lipsticks is super sleek and easy to carry around. I recommend these three shades if you are looking to try some of e.l.f.’s lip colors!
