ColourPop Pressed Eyeshadows – A MUST HAVE

A few months ago, I made a Colourpop order because I wanted to try some of their pressed eyeshadows and their new blotted lip products! I want to focus this post on the pressed eyeshadows because these are probably my favorite drug store eyeshadow formula!

When you order eyeshadow pans from Colourpop, a free empty eyeshadow palette is placed in your cart after every four eyeshadows you add to it (awesome, right?). So basically you create your own custom quads which you can organize by monchromatic color schemes (which is what I did). The four colors I bought are Pretty Cruel, Dreamboat, High Strung, and Pep Talk.

Pretty Cruel is a matte mauve berry tone with gold glitter flecks! It is gorgeous and is great for deepening my crease color or placing it on the outer v. Dreamboat is another favorite of mine – a perfect crease color! Dreamboat is a muted and matte dusty rose color that is buildable for a deeper color depending on the look you’re trying to achieve. High Strung is a metallic dusty rose that is wonderful for blending and shading on the lid. It can even be used all over for a deeper and more intense look. Finally, Pep Talk is my favorite out of all four. It is a metallic icy peach that gets it’s metallic sheen from fine glitter dust in the formula. It is gorgeous, and great for highlighting the center of the lid, dusting all over the lid, or blending with the other colors.

In the palette, I ordered them Pep Talk, Dream Boat, High Strung, and Pretty Cruel. How cute is the Colourpop palette by the way?! Love it!

These shadows are a must have in your collection. The colors I chose are great for summer, spring, and warmer fall looks too, so they are versatile from season to season. The texture of these are buttery and super pigmented, with little fallout. They are not dry, and are comfortable to wear. Not to mention, they last ALL DAY LONG!

I also think the colors I chose are reminscent of ones found in the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette, so if you’re looking for colors similar to the ABH palette that won’t break the bank, Colourpop’s pressed eyeshadows are the way to go! Plus they fit snuggly in this cute and travel friendly magnetic palette, so you cannot go wrong placing an order!

Right now, Colourpop is having a Memorial Day sale. Certain best sellers are 20% off, there is free U.S. shipping on all orders, and free international shipping on orders of $35 or more. Plus, it is Colourpop’s birthday month, so after you place $10 worth of product in your cart, you qualify for a free limited edition super shock eyeshadow. This deal is insane, so if you haven’t tried these formulas yet, definitely place an order today!

Rose Gold Eyes: Makeup for Friendsgiving

Hello and Happy Friday! In my last post, I shared with you all some of the fun items I grabbed from Harmon’s Face Values (read about it here: Shopping at Harmon Face Values), and how I was trying to recreate a look I saw Shaaanxo do on YouTube. I promised I would show you the final look I came up with, and I think it came out really nice! This picture doesn’t do my eyes justice because they were super pearlized and rose gold, but this is the only picture I have of the finished look. Overall, I was looking to make my face have a bronze glow.

new-blog-pic-january-17

Here are all the products I used:

Face:

  1. Revlon Colorstay foundation in “220 Natural Beige”
  2. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in  “light”
  3. Rimmel London Stay Matte powder in “011 Creamy Natural”
  4. e.l.f. cosmetics bronzer in “warm”
  5. theBalm cosmetics HotMama blush

Brows:

  1. Nyx microbrow pencil in “taupe”
  2. Essence cosmetics brow gel in “browny brows”

Eyes:

  1. Maybelline Colour Tattoo Crayon Eyeshadow in “Barely Beige”
  2. Colourpop Cosmetics Supershock eyeshadow in “Weenie”
  3. BH Cosmetics BubzBeauty palette using shades “Able”, “Grateful”,”Optimistic”, and “Thoughtful”
  4. Colourpop creme eyeliner pencil in “Get Paid”
  5. theBalm cosmetics Mad Lash mascara

Lips:

  1. Wet N Wild PerfectPout Gel Lip Liner in “Bare to Comment”
  2. Wet N Wild Catsuit Liquid Lipstick in “Coral Corruption”

I really love how well this look came out. It was definitely different than the tutorial I watched, but I also used a bunch of different products so nothing was exactly the same color. Nonetheless, it was successful and I would definitely recreate those eyes again when I go out, or for the summer time.

The Wet N Wild lip liner and liquid lipstick are INCREDIBLE. They have so much staying power, and they are gorgeous colors. I am really happy I bought them since I will get a lot of use out of them! The Rimmel powder is really nice too, and it keeps my face looking matte and one color after applying my liquid foundation & concealer. I suggest picking them up if you see them at the drugstore because they really are amazing for a drugstore price tag.

Do you like the look I created? How do you like to use rose gold tones?

Until next time xoxo

ColourPop Cosmetics Labor Day Order

colourpop-labor-day-order-2016Hello gorgeous creatures! My ColourPop order from Labor Day weekend finally came in, and I am so happy with these products!! ❤ Omg, seriously you guys, this fall all of my favorite shades are trending in beauty. Cool toned pinks/reds, and dark purples/plums are all in the beauty scene right now and I’m loving it. When ColourPop launched their Fall Edit, I snagged their new SuperShock eyeshadow in the shade “Tang” which is a rosy matte mauve color,  “Alyssa”which is a cool-toned pink nude Ultra Satin lip from the KathleenLights collaboration, and a free full-sized new lip color called “Viper” which is a cool-toned berry Ultra Matte lip.

Tang

This shadow is so pretty! I think it makes the perfect crease shade, and it will look really nice paired with my Carli Bybel palette from BH Cosmetics (Read about that palette here: ULTA Beauty Birthday Haul). It is full of mauvey rose shades as well, and I think layering this color under some of the colors in that palette will look great for fall!

wp-1473805534317.png

Alyssa

“Alyssa” is the first Ultra Satin lip I’ve tried from ColourPop, and I LOVE the formula. It doesn’t dry down matte, so there is some transfer. However, it doesn’t sit in the cracks and creases of the lips, and the formula is buttery and almost fluffy. This color doesn’t look the best with my skin tone, but I’m definitely going to wear this color throughout the next few months because it is so gorgeous. It’s a great shade for everyday wear.

wp-1473805534339.png

Viper

“Viper” was a free gift with purchase, and a brand new shade. This color is the perfect fall berry color! It looks a lot darker on me than I expected, but it doesn’t make my teeth look yellow or make my lips look really dry. It is an Ultra Matte, though, so I prep my lips with Blistex before applying this on top so it doesn’t sit in the creases of my lips. It stays on for a long time (I wore it yesterday to work), and it lasted through the classes I taught. ColourPop’s next Fall Edit launch didn’t include this shade, but I think that’s because they may be releasing even more products come late September and early October – this lip color being one of them.

From top to bottom: Tang eyeshadow, Alyssa Ultra Satin, Viper Ultra Matte

I’m so excited I have these colors now in my collection to use this fall! I also have a special coupon code ColourPop sent me to use within the next month, and I am hoping they release even more shades soon so I can use my coupon 🙂

Look out for their Fall Edit 2 which is launching this Thursday on the ColourPop website!

Did you order from ColourPop recently? What did you get?

Until next time!

Fall Beauty Wishlist 2016

HELLO beauties! Happy Labor Day!

It is officially September, which means I can officially start getting hyped for fall and my favorite holiday – Halloween! September also means I can start getting excited over all of the fall releases makeup companies are launching! I may or may not have already taken advantage of the ColourPop Labor Day sale, where I ordered two new products from their Fall Edit, and an Ultra Satin lip color in the shade “Alyssa” from the KathleenLights collaboration. Nonetheless, I have a list of products that were released in the last few months that I really want to purchase and try for this fall season! Today I wanted to share with you all some products I’ve been eyeing for some time now.

wp-1473113765547.jpg

First of all, I REALLY REALLY want the Morphe 35F Fall Into Frost palette! This palette has a whole row of matte shades along the bottom, and then the other four are all frosted, shimmery shades! Ugh, everything about this palette is perfection. I don’t own anything from Morphe, but this palette looks like it would be perfect for different fall-inspired eye looks. Maybe I can finally order this when I start my new job next week and start making money!

Next, I am kicking myself I didn’t order the ColourPop highlighter in the shade “Hippo” when I placed my order yesterday. I’ve been dying to try a tinted highlight, and  “Hippo” is an icy silver highlighter with a lavender shift. ColourPop just sent me a $5.00 off coupon code that is good for use within the next month, so again once I start making money at my new job I’ll probably place another order from CP. Hopefully by that time, ColourPop will also have released more new products for me to try!

Finally, there are 3 Jeffree Star products I want to try. I am a little late to the Jeffree Star party, but seeing all of the reviews of his Skin Frosts and liquid lipsticks – I feel like it’s time to try them. Two of his matte liquid lipsticks I’m drooling over are “Doll Parts”, and “Virginity”. I’m concerned “Virginity” may look too light on my fair skin, but I’ve heard amazing reviews of his matte liquid lipstick formula!

Furthermore, Lavender Snow is the Skin Frost that I want to try!! ❤ Again, this is a cool-toned icy silver highlight with a lavender shift. All of his Skin Frosts have sold out, but I am curious to see if these highlighters go on sale/promotion for Black Friday/Cyber Monday! If so, I will definitely pick it up, however, in the meantime I think if I can get my hands on ColourPop’s “Hippo” I’ll be content!

These are my top picks and wishes for the fall season, though I am sure this list will become longer once more makeup companies begin launching their fall collections. I’ve been excited for the Wet N Wild fall collection since August (Read about that here: Wet n Wild Fall Collection 2016!), and I’m hoping the fall season will give me a lot of fun choices to add to my collection to last me through the winter! ❤

What beauty products are you most excited for this fall?

Rebel Rebel June Ipsy Glambag Unboxing & Review

Hello beautiful creatures!

I finished my first class of the summer yesterday, and I only have a few days until my second one begins on Monday. I apologize this is a tad late, but my Ipsy bag shipped later this month, and studying for my final for my summer class had me up late and distracted so I couldn’t post my Ipsy unboxing! I had a few surprises in my bag this month, because the products shown in my EARLY ACCESS were not the colors I received in my bag. Initially, I was a little annoyed, as this has never happened before, however, I am very satisfied with the products I did receive!

Tight on time? Skip to the bottom for swatches and overall feelings about this month’s bag!

screenshot_2016-06-23-16-43-58-1.png

In my EARLY ACCESS post, I wrote that it showed I would receive the ColourPop creme gel liner in Swerve (a black color), and it showed I would receive the Balm eyeshadow in Matt Kumar (the red color). Instead, these were the contents of my bag:

  1. The Balm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Moskowitz (purple shade)
  2. ColourPop Cosmetics Creme Gel Liner in Get Paid (golden copper color)
  3. Liptini Cream Lip Color in Pinktini
  4. Boo Boo Cover Up in Baby Boo Boo Cover Up
  5. BioRepublic SkinCare Fiber Mask Set in Pomegranate Crush and Cucumber Breeze

As I mentioned, at first I was a little upset because I was really looking forward to receiving Swerve and Matt Kumar. Nonetheless, I started using the products and I am actually really happy I received Get Paid and Matt Moskowitz.

snapchat-8618394160642467693-1.jpg

Get Paid is a creamy and highly pigmented eyeliner! I am so happy I was able to try out the ColourPop creme liners this way because I was hesitant to spend money on them! I will definitely be repurchasing Get Paid though, because I love the color and it stays put ALL DAY LONG!! It’s wonderful! Unfortunately, it is super soft so if you buy this product be careful applying it because mine broke a little bit already (when I was doing a swatch for this post!! :() So if you can avoid it, don’t twist the pencil up too much!

The Boo Boo Cover-Up was another surprise. I’ve never heard of this brand before, but this is a great concealer! A little goes a long way, and it stays on really well! I put a little of this under my eyes and some mascara on this morning to go to the gym early, and it not only hid my dark circles, but it stayed on throughout the hour and a half I was there sweating! I am always looking for great concealers, and this one was a surprising win!

I tried the Pomegranate Crush BioRepublic mask today, and I didn’t really like it. It had a pleasant scent, and it felt cool on my skin, but I probably will not be purchasing these masks in the future. I felt like it didn’t illuminate my skin or even my skin tone at all (and I left it on my face for 15 minutes!). I will definitely use up the other mask because they are nice and smell good, but I think they don’t really do anything.

The Matt Moskowitz eyeshadow is a really pretty shade of purple. In my EARLY ACCESS post, I told y’all I’m always down for a nice burgundy shadow (when I thought I was getting Matt Kumar), but I am also always down for plum colored shadows!! Purple is my favorite color, and this is a nice cool-toned deep plum purple! Also, the packaging is darn adorable!

Finally, the Liptini lip color is probably the biggest surprise in this bag. I thought I was going to hate it because I am used to lipsticks and lip colors that don’t require using a brush to apply. But I am wearing this shade today and it is AMAZING. The color is a natural pink/peach color, and it smells absolutely delicious – just like summertime! I might look into repurchasing/purchasing more Liptini products because I am so impressed!

Here are swatches of all of the products I received:

snapchat-5883354777889513120-1.jpg

Swatches from top to bottom: Liptini in Pinktini, the Balm Matt Moskowitz, ColourPop Creme Gel Liner in Get Paid, Boo Boo Cover-Up in light

Overall, I am quite happy with this Ipsy bag. I really don’t like this month’s bag design as I mentioned in my EARLY ACCESS post, and the face masks were a bit dull, but overall I am content with what I received in this month’s subscription bag. The gel liner and eyeshadow are great, and I will be using all of the concealer! I also see myself reaching for the liptini a lot this summer! On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the lowest, and 10 being the best), I would give this bag a 7/10. I think the theme was sort of dumb (I’m not hating on Ipsy, I just don’t understand the theme and I think the bag design is meh), and like I said the masks were not the best. But I am definitely excited to continue my subscription, and since next month (July) is my birthday month, I hope the July bag brings the heat and is amazing!

What did you think of this month’s Ipsy bag? Are you happy with what you received? Did you like your liptini?

Xoxo until next time loves!
