Ipsy Rockstarlet: November Glambag

Hello beautifuls!

Happy Saturday! I can’t believe we are almost to Thanksgiving! I am so excited because this means I have exactly one month until my semester is over! I can’t wait to go home for the holidays and have time to relax and work on my graduate school applications.

Other than being excited for the holidays, I am really excited to share my November glambag with all of you! This month’s bag was super functional for my needs and beauty routines!

This month’s bag featured some great brands and products! In this month’s bag I received:

  1. Luxie Beauty Luxie Rose Gold Duo Fiber Brush 524T
  2. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
  3. Lasting Smiles Lip Balm in Peppermint Creme
  4. Skone Cosmetics Brow Wand Eyebrow Pencil in Chocolate
  5. BH Cosmetics Foil Eyes To Go Eyeshadow Palette

So far, I’ve tested the Too Faced mascara, and the BH Cosmetics Foil Eyes eyeshadow palette. For the mascara, I love the wand! The bristles are soft (not plastic), and the formula is really buildable. It’s not as good as the Tarte Lash Paint sample I received in my September Ipsy bag, but it works well as an everyday mascara.

Additionally, I LOVE the BH Cosmetics Foil Eyes palette. Those of you who read my blog  often know I own a few eyeshadow palettes already from BH Cosmetics (Carli Bybel palette, BubzBeauty palette), so I already am a huge fan of their eyeshadows. This foil palette is a convenient mini size to throw in my purse, and the colors are creamy and pigmented to the max!! When applied, it leaves a great foiled effect on the eyelid and is super shiny! It’s ideal for bringing subtle feminine drama to the eyes, and every time I’ve used it, I’ve received many compliments on my eye makeup. I’m curious if BH has a larger version of the palette for me to purchase in the future. Here are swatches from the palette!

wp-1479606076726.png

All in all, I give this month’s bag a 4.5 out of 5 stars (1 being the worst, 5 being the best!). I received three full-sized products (the lip balm, the eyebrow wand, and the new brush even though the brush is smaller than I anticipated), and two great samples! The foil eyes palette is travel-sized but you get decent sized shadows, and the Too Faced mascara I’ve been dying to try for a while now, so I will totally use it. Ipsy’s fall glambags were a total treat, and I am happy I stuck through the boring summer glambags and held out for the fall bags! I am excited to see what Ipsy does for December and the holidays, and I hope the winter glambags are as good or even better than the fall ones!

What were your favorite products this month? Did you love your bag as much as I did?

Until next time,

November Ipsy Early Access – RockStarlet

OMG OMG OMG guys!!!!! I am sooo flippen excited about this month’s glambag I really can’t contain it! Ipsy is literally the best monthly expense I pay for (other than my gym membership of course).

Before I go into my obsessive-love for this month’s bag, I want to apologize for the lack of posts. This semester is 2/3 of the way over and there are a lot of extra rehearsals, assignments, and performances I’ve been working on, in addition to traveling 6+ hours for work each weeks, and working on top of it! I promise, especially with the holiday break approaching, I will be posting much more frequently and writing more reviews and dance-related posts. I have so much I want to share with you all!

Anyway, back to the Ipsy bag, this month’s theme is “Rockstarlet” which I can totally dig because the bag has a cool constellation design (the constellations are in the shape of makeup products!), and it comes in either a gold detail or a silver detail. I like this bag a lot, and I can see myself using it for the makeup I keep in my purse.

nov16-glambag-4

For real though, how cute is this design? I wish I could see what the silver bag looked like in full view behind it, but either one I receive I know I’ll love. Here’s the best part: the contents of this month’s bag are AMAZING! Not only are there amazing brands, every product in the bag I love and will TOTALLY use. UGH! Here’s a list of what I will be receiving:

  1. Luxie Beauty Luxie Rose Gold Small Duo Fiber Brush 524T

  2. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

  3. Lasting Smiles Lip Balm in Peach Blossom, Peppermint Creme or Vanilla Bean

  4. Skone Cosmetics Brow Wand Eyebrow Pencil in Chocolate

  5. BH Cosmetics Foil Eyes To Go

You can click on the images to see a larger version of the products. All of the contents of this month’s bag are sooo functional for me and my beauty routines, and the brands are all favorites of mine! I love Too Faced and have been dying to try the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, and the Luxie Rose Gold Small Duo Fiber Brush 524T is so pretty and a full-sized brush! I’ve received a Luxie brush before in my April glambag and use it all of the time, so I know I will get good use out of this one. The BH Cosmetics Foil Eyes To Go is going to be great to throw in my dance makeup bag for when I have performances or when I want a bold look. Additionally, the Lasting Smiles lip balm I will use everyday (I always use Blistex or Chapstick daily), and I love eyebrow pencils, so the Skone Cosmetics Brow Wand Eyebrow Pencil will be great for me to try.

This bag looks like one of my best bags yet, and I cannot wait to receive my shipping confirmation. The months seem to be flying nowadays, and I feel like the times between when my glambags get to me is becoming shorter and shorter (though I know it’s not, time is just passing so quickly!). Remember how I said in my August glambag post that I feel like the summer bags were pretty lame, and that Ipsy was probably going to step their game up for the fall? (If not, you can read about it here: Sugar Highness August Ipsy Bag). I think this still holds true! September & October’s bags were great, and now November’s bag looks like it’s going to be AWESOME.

Did you peek at your early access yet? What do you think about your bag? 🙂 Let me know!

Until next time beauties!

Hey Boo… Did you Get your Black Magic October Ipsy Bag?

Hello boo-tifuls! (Sorry not sorry for all of the puns). Are you as excited as I am for the October glambag?! It is sooo cute! I didn’t post early access this month because I wanted my bag to be a surprise – and I am actually quite happy with my bag this month! I only received one full-sized product, but all of the products I did receive work fairly well, and are very usable for my everyday makeup routine!

Let’s start with the glambag itself. The design was a collaboration between Ipsy and the animation artist Valfré! If you don’t know who Valfré is, I suggest you go to her site and look at her artwork – it’s super cute! The bag’s design goes with the theme of the month – Black Magic – and it’s not the typical Halloween orange and black color scheme which I like. The bag is actually a light lavender shade with black Halloween graphics all over it. The best part? The zipper is a ghost with hearts for eyes!! I love this bag!!

Here is a list of the products in my bag:

  1.  Ciaté London Fierce Flicks Eyeliner
  2. the Balm Cosmetics Hot Mama Blush
  3. ModelCo Instant Brows Brow Pencil in Light/Medium
  4. tre’StiQue Matte Lip Crayon in Belize Bordeaux

  5. pūr~lisse Daily Lip Nourisher with Mango and Shea Butters

Although only one product was full-sized, all of these products are quite functional for me!

wp-1477073895038.png

The Ciaté London Fierce Flicks Eyeliner surprised me! This was my favorite product in my bag! I don’t wear a lot of winged liquid liner anymore, if I wear any eyeliner at all, but this eyeliner works amazing! It’s a true matte black and goes on smooth. The felt tip of the pen is accurate and precise as well. I can see myself reaching for this product a lot!! It reminds me of the Lancome Art Liner (which I’ve used and LOVED!), but the Ciaté liner is actually MORE pigmented. The Lancome liner doesn’t smudge as much as this one, but the Ciaté liner stays put pretty much all day. The only smudging I noticed was a little in my outer corners at the end of the day.

My second favorite product was the Balm Cosmetics Hot Mama Blush! I don’t buy a lot of blush, but the Balm never disappoints me with their products, so I knew this blush was going to be amazing. The color works well with my skin tone, and it stays pigmented and fresh looking all day long! I love this, and am considering picking up a full-sized pan! The only think I didn’t like was that this blush has a shimmery tint. I generally prefer my blushes matte, but this one was a nice exception.

The ModelCo Instant Brows Brow Pencil in Light/Medium was a disappointment. I enjoy the precise tip and the brow brush on the cap, but this color and formula didn’t work well for my eyebrows at all. The formula is not waxy, and the color is a little too warm for my hair color. I feel like when I wear this product, people can tell I filled in my brows (which is opposite of the effect I want from a brow pencil). I love brow pencils, but for this one I’m going to have to pass.

The tre’StiQue Matte Lip Crayon in Belize Bordeaux was another sort-of let down product in my bag. I like the buttery formula of the lip crayon, but the color doesn’t work for my skin. It makes my teeth look yellow-ish (when my teeth aren’t really yellow), and the shade doesn’t look right on my skin at all. I was hoping I was going to receive the other color (Florence Fig), which is a neutral pink. Nonetheless, the color I received is not going to give me a lot of use.

Finally, the next and final surprising product in my bag was the pūr~lisse Daily Lip Nourisher with Mango and Shea Butters. It is matte liquid lipstick season, and I am ALWAYS trying to moisturize my lips before I apply my liquid lipsticks. This products is AMAZING. It keeps my liquid lipstick from drying my lips out too much, and it leaves my lips feelings soft and supple. I will definitely be purchasing a full-size of this product once the late fall and the beginning of winter come. If you need a good product to prep your lips for liquid matte lipstick, this is it!

wp-1477073895028.png

Overall, I’d give this bag a 4 out of 5 stars (1 being the worst, 5 being the best). I was a little disappointed with only one full-sized product, but I am so excited all of the products are so functional and useful for colder weather. I am also super happy with how well-developed the theme of this bag was, and how the design of the bag makes sense with the theme.

Halloween is only 10 days away!! What did you receive in your Ipsy Black Magic bag this month? Are you happy with your bag? What was your favorite product?

Until next time ghouls!

Ipsy GLAMAZON September Glambag Unbagging & Review

Hello beauties!

Yesterday, I received my September glambag in the mail, and I am so excited to show you what was curated for me this month! It was pretty awesome, and last night I was able to use a bunch of the products I received to help me go out with my good friend Christina.

wp-1474132114766.png

The arms of the girls on the bag spell out the word “ipsy”!

Here is what was inside!

  1. Pixi by Petra Mattelustre Lipstick in Rose Naturelle
  2. Tarte cosmetics tarteist™ lash paint mascara
  3. Ulta3 Nail Colour in Sizzling Red
  4. BelláPierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Autumn Glow
  5. Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask

wp-1474132114786.png

Last night, I was able to try the Briogeo deep conditioning mask when I took a shower, and the blush, mascara, and lipstick when I was getting ready to go out!

The Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask is said to work and show improvements after three continuous uses, however, since I only used it once it worked just like any other conditioner. It was a thicker texture (definitely more like a mask texture), but it didn’t have a strong smell. It wasn’t a bad scent, however, it wasn’t an appealing scent to me. Nonetheless, it worked just like every other conditioner for the most part, so maybe I will see more improvements with continuous use.

For the Pixi by Petra Mattelustre Lipstick in Rose Naturelle, I was really let down by this product. The color is nice and the texture is great (it’s more of a satin finish than a matte), but it smells salty! The smell of this lipstick is horrendous – it literally smells like I’m standing next to a bay or am standing under a boardwalk. The smell is so gross, that last night I put my ColourPop Ultra Matte lipstick in Viper over it so hide it. I was a little disappointed in this, but since it’s a sample size I guess I didn’t lose too much.

The Tarte cosmetics tarteist™ lash paint mascara is sooo amazing! After only one coat (without curling) my lashes were super long and defined and volumized! I was excited to receive this sample, and I am contemplating buying a full-sized tube because it worked so well and I loved it so much!

Finally, the BelláPierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Autumn Glow was super pretty, and looked really nice on my skin. It’s very peachy and warm in color, and it’s actually pearlized so it looks more like a blush highlight. Nonetheless, I can definitely see myself using this product a lot this fall when I don’t want super pink rosy cheeks (the cold temperatures this fall will take care of that for me anyway – my face becomes so red from the cold). I really liked this product, and it is full-size!

I have yet to try the Ulta3 Nail Colour in Sizzling Red, but I really want to go get my nails done soon (after my first paycheck), so I am hoping I can do that and use this nail polish.

Additionally, I had an Ipsy point-redemption in my bag this month too!! It’s the Coastal Scents Pearl Brush Trio!

wp-1474132114768.png

This trio is three full-sized brushes – a small stipple brush, a medium eyeshadow brush, and a thin pointed brush. The bristles are very soft, and I am excited to try the stipple brush with my foundation! ❤ I really can’t believe I received all of these fabulous products for $10.00 USD plus free shipping!

I hope you all enjoyed this unbagging and review. This is my first glambag in months that has impressed me this much, so I have really high hopes for October’s glambag! Hopefully it’s Halloween themed!! ❤

Ipsy GLAMAZON Early Access!

Good evening beautiful creatures! Today, Ipsy’s September glambag early access went live, and I knew September’s bag was going to be lit! I just had a good feeling about this month, and I am SO excited for my glambag to ship! Here’s what’s inside:

wp-1473200404980.png

  1. Pixi by Petra Mattelustre Lipstick in Rose Naturelle: This shade is described as a vintage rose, and I am SO big into rosy, mauve lip colors lately. I can’t wait to try this out!! It seems like a perfect fall shade.

    wp-1473200404974.png

  2. Tarte cosmetics tarteist™ lash paint mascara: Uhm, who doesn’t love mini mascara samples!? Especially if they are Tarte! I have never tried the Tarte tartiest mascara, but I am SO happy I have the chance to try it out through Ipsy! ❤

    wp-1473200405034.png

  3. Ulta3 Nail Colour in Sizzling Red: This shade is a really warm red, and I think it is not only reminiscent of fall (red apples, red leaves, red sunsets, etc.), it is also reminiscent of the glamazon theme! Rich reds like this are very old Hollywood glam, and I’m digging it.

    wp-1473200405001.png

  4. BelláPierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Autumn Glow: Doesn’t the name of this blush just make you want to melt?! I don’t generally buy blushes, and to be honest, I only have 2 blushes in my whole collection. I always see BelláPierre Cosmetics on sale on Groupon, and I’ve been wanting to try it! This blush looks like the perfect muted peach with a bronzey shimmer – also reminiscent of the burnt tones of fall! Can’t wait to try it!

    wp-1473200404984.png

  5. Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask: Last but not least is this repairing hair mask! Apparently, 4 out of 5 Ipsy subscribers said after three uses of this they saw less breakage and repair of their hair! Lately, I’ve been buying hair products that help define and strengthen curls (I have thick, curly hair), so this weekly treatment looks like it will be great to test out!

    wp-1473200404977.png

  6. Coastal Scents Pearl Brush Trio: This was a point-redemption, and I am SUPER excited to have these in my glambag this month. I love Coastal Scents, and I always need extra makeup brushes for school and when I haven’t had the chance to clean my usual set. I dropped 500 Ipsy points on these, so hopefully they were worth spending my points on! I’m curious to see if they are full-sized brushes like what Ipsy usually includes in their bags, or if they are travel-sized? I am hoping they are full-size! ❤

Coastal Scents Pearl Collection Ipsy 2016

I think Ipsy is coming back and impressing me again because if you’ve read my last three glambag reviews (for June, July, and August), I haven’t really had a great bag this summer. Spring’s bags (March, April, and May) were awesome! I predicted in my last Ipsy bag review that the fall bags would be really awesome, and at least for September it has proven my prediction correct! I can’t wait to un-bag this month for you all in a week or two when I receive it in the mail, and I can’t wait to see what surprises October (my favorite month!!) has in store for us at Ipsy!

Did you look at your early access? Did you redeem any Ipsy points? Let me know!

Until next time!
