Bye for Now Ipsy Subscritpion

I am so sad to be writing this post. I decided I am going to stop my Ipsy subscription for now. I love Ipsy as a service, and they have great customer service representatives who are always more than willing to help fix any problems. As a whole, the business is an AMAZING one. However, I feel like after a year and 8 months (March 2016-November 2017), I’ve been receiving many of the same products, many products in similar colors they already sent me, products in colors I’ve specified in reviews I did not like, or repeats of products I already own. If you’ve noticed, I’ve stopped reviewing my glambags on here because I have not been very excited about the last few bags I received.

Furthermore, I feel like I have so many of their little bags that I am actually running out of room in my makeup drawer because of it! I love the little bags because some of them are SO CUTE and perfect to throw in a purse. But the bags are hit or miss. Many times, the designs are strange or not cute and I don’t really have a use for it after I’ve opened it to see all of my products for the month.

Nonetheless, Ipsy has introduced me to many new products I love, which led me to go out and buy full-size versions myself! I am very satisfied with my time as a customer, and like I said I will be back to Ipsy eventually! But for now, a break is much needed.

In the meantime, what are your favorite beauty subscriptions? Do you like Ipsy? Which other one’s should I try?

I’m Back and I’m Officially a College Graduate!

Hello my lovely WordPress readers!

It has been a long time since I last posted!! This final semester was absolute insanity – 18 credits (5 of which were academic classes), on top of 5 rehearsals a week, working 3 nights a week, commuting to work 6+ hours a week, etc. – It has been a rough and long final haul. But fortunately, tomorrow I will be graduating with my B.A. in Dance Performance, my B.A. in Psychology, and my minor in Dance Therapy! I am finishing senior year with a 4.0 GPA, and will be graduating Magna Cum Laude, so all of my hard work has paid off! Check out my decorated graduation cap below!

Here is a little update about my life since I last was able to post!

I went on a few auditions and am happy to announce I will be performing with Introspective Movement Project which is a contemporary jazz dance company! I will also be teaching at a local studio, and hopefully blogging way more often!! I am finishing up another application to graduate school as well, so hopefully I will know soon if I am called to an interview or not. I will be attending the American Dance Festival’s Dance Professionals Workshop in a few weeks, and I will be seeing my boyfriend a lot this summer thankfully! ❤ 2017 has been a great year so far, and I hope to keep this ball rolling through the end of the year!

It killed me to not have any time to write for JLoF while I trudged through this semester. I was doing a lot of research and reading for my senior seminar project for my psychology degree, which I may or may not post as a separate page on my blog! I’d love to share some of the research I’ve gathered pertaining to dance/movement therapy, and it’s effectiveness as a treatment modality. Nonetheless, I am sorry I took a four month hiatus, but I promise I have a lot of beauty reviews, dance-related posts, and summer blog posts to share with you all!

First up is a review of some Colourpop pressed eyeshadows, so be on the lookout for those and a graduation wrap-up post after tomorrow’s festivities!!

Can’t wait to share my experiences with you all! ❤

My Second Liebster Award! – Thank You Natalie

Hello WordPress loves! I am sorry I went missing-in-action all week. I was visiting my boyfriend for Memorial Day Weekend! Also, my first summer class has begun and it has been taking over my life (so much reading and so many papers it’s crazy). But anyway, a few weeks ago, the lovely Natalie (aka: Disney Freak with a Bit of Mascara!) nominated me for the Liebster award! This is my second Liebster award, and I am very thankful for the opportunity! You all should check her blog out as well, it’s awesome! (Especially if you love Disney!).

THE RULES:

•Thank the blogger who has nominated you for this award.
•Answer the questions the blogger has given you.
•Nominate five to eleven bloggers.
•Make up questions for the bloggers you nominated.
•Notify the bloggers you have nominated.

MY QUESTIONS I WAS ASKED:

“What’s your go-to in a “rush makeup look?”

I usually do a look that makes my skin look dewy and tan-ish. I start with a primer and concealer, then use liquid and pressed powder foundation, highlighter, bronzer, and blush. When I’m pressed for time, this is usually my “no makeup makeup look”, so I top it off with mascara. Finally, I fill my eyebrows!

“What’s your favorite thing about yourself?”

I love how motivated and determined I am in every aspect of my life. I never give up!!

“What are some goals you hope to accomplish for your blog?”

I hope to reach 500 followers by the end of next school year (so May 2017), and I hope to be sponsored by cosmetic companies in the future!

“What do you enjoy to do in your free time?”

When I can, I love spending time with my boyfriend and going on adventures. I also love being with my family, and spending time with friends. I love laying on my dock by the lake, and playing with my dog!

“Do you prefer to watch the movie and then read the book or read the book and then watch the movie?”

I prefer to read the book and then see the movie! The book usually comes first, and is usually always better than the movie in my opinion!

“Do you prefer Disney or Universal?”

They are both great parks, but I love Disney! Deep down, I am a Disney kid at heart ❤ Plus, I want to dance in Disney so Disney is my fav!

“Are you a morning person or a night person?”

Definitely a night person. Since I was a child, my dad has called me “the night owl” 🙂

“Tea or coffee?”

I love both, but coffee is my addiction! I can drink coffee all day long if I had to! My go-to is a Dunkin medium iced coffee with caramel and hazelnut swirl with extra skim milk 🙂

“Bold lip color and neutral eyeshadow or bold eyeshadow and neutral lip color? “

Probably both! This is tough! Recently, I’ve been really into lipsticks, and neutral eyeshadows. However, I love eyeshadow the best, and I love neutral lip colors too!

“What’s your favorite vacation destination\ the place you want to visit most?”

My favorite vacation destination was Oahu, Hawaii, but I also loved the Disney vacation I took in December, and a vacation I took to Puerto Rico back in October! ❤

IPSY EARLY ACCESS ALERT – THE DREAMERS

Hello beautiful people!

Late last night, I was up making a PowerPoint for my choreography class, and right before I was about to sleep, I saw a tweet that said Ipsy Early Access was ready!

Naturally, I logged onto Ipsy and saw my BEAUTIFUL April bag!! Guys I am sooo excited about this one!! I am going to be receiving a lot of fun stuff!

img_20160407_094045.jpg

The Dreamers

This month’s bag has a title, and it’s called, “The Dreamers“. I love the name and the look of the makeup bag – it reminds me of summer camping for some reason! It also has a bit of a hippie vibe to it which I totally dig. Here is what I will be receiving this month!

1. Tarte cosmetics Lip Surgence Lip Creme in “Wonder”
2. Luxie Beauty Dream Catcher
Tapered 522 Highlight Brush
3. Probelle Nail Lacquer in “In or Out”
4. Jelly Pong Pong “Neopolitan” Eyeshadow Trio
5. MoroccanOil Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment

Holy beautiful spring time beauty, this bag looks like it’s going to be so much fun! I just watched a CoffeeBreakWithDani YouTube video where one of her February favorites was an angled Luxie beauty brush, and I thought to myself the other day, I would have loved to try one! I also have been dying for a new brush specifically for highlighting because I’ve been practicing, and I don’t like mixing my highlighter with my foundation, blush, or bronzer brushes (ie: using my foundation brush also as my highlight brush, etc.). Plus, the name of the brush fits perfectly with the theme of the bag. *Swoon* I’ve fallen in love with Ipsy and it’s only my second month of subscription with them!

Further, I am so happy I am receiving the Tarte lip color! This color looks so perfect for spring time! I’ve never tried Tarte products, and I am happy I am able to sample it! Tarte is a cruelty-free brand, and I love that cruelty-free cosmetic companies are becoming more mainstream!

The Jelly Pong Pong eye shadow trio is a full-size product too, and on the Jelly Pong Pong website, the color swatches of this product look so gorgeous!! ❤ I’ve never heard of this brand before, but apparently its 100% cruelty-free, and they have some really adorable packaging on their products! I’m definitely psyched to try this one out 🙂

The nail color is purple (my favorite color!), and I am always down for a good purple polish! I’ve never tried Probelle, but I’ve recently been getting back into nail polish and painting my own nails again, so this is perfect!

Finally, the Moroccan Oil hair treatment seems like it is going to be really awesome for my curly hair. My hair tends to be on the drier side, and I’m always looking out for new products to help tame frizz and keep my curls bouncy (especially in the humid summer months). Last month I received the Marc Anthony anti-frizz hair cream, and I really enjoyed it, so I’m expecting to like this hair treatment as well!

Let me know what you all are getting in your Ipsy bags this month! Are you as excited as I am?!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Makeup of the Day – Blushed Nudes

Good afternoon beauties!

I am going shopping this afternoon for some things I need for the American College Dance Festival next week, and to start shopping for my boyfriend’s birthday present. I am meeting my mom, sister, and brother at the store later, and I wanted to show you all my makeup of the day!

I did a “blushed” natural look, so that means rosy pink cheeks, highlight, pink eyes that sparkle, and natural looking brows!

Here is the finished result!
