21 Birthday Gifts – Makeup Edition

Hello beautiful people!

I just wanted to show you some fun makeup I received for my birthday! There were three items gifted to me from my boyfriend’s mom, and then some makeup brushes I bought myself as a gift (haha, that was my excuse for purchasing them anyway!).

Fun birthday goodies

My boyfriend’s mom gave me the Too Faced Sugar Pop palette, a Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in the shade “Opal”, and a Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade “Cool Girl”.

I ordered these four ADORABLE brushes from Wet N Wild, which are vegan and cruelty-free! The bristles are a white to pink ombre color, but as you can see, I’ve been using these brushes a lot and their original coloring is hidden beneath eyeshadow pigments!

I won’t go into too much about the brushes, but I have to say for the price I paid, these brushes are durable, super cute, and help pick up eye shadow very easily. They are my go-to brushes to use with the eye-shadows I create/make, and I am happy I invested the money to order these from the Wet N Wild website.

Too Faced Sugar Pop palette

As for my other birthday makeup gifts, let me start with the Too Faced palette! I am IN LOVE with this!! I didn’t expect to like the color scheme so much, however, since I’ve been playing with it for a week, the colors are SO VERSATILE. I really love the bigger pans (Rock Candy, Strawberry Ice, Peach Fuzz) as all-over lid colors, and Macaron has to be one of my favorite colors out of all 9 in the palette! Blackberry is also a great outer-v shade when it’s buffed out, as is Malted Milk Ball. These colors stay put all day, and are really creamy, pigmented, and easy to apply!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal

This Becca highlighter is literally to die for! My boyfriend’s mom has told me in the past it is her holy grail highlighter, and now I understand why! A little goes a long way with this highlight, and it really helps the face glow! ❤ I can’t get enough of it. I have been using it every day since she gave it to me, and I am so happy I have a new highlighter I know works for me and my skin tone.

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick in “Cool Girl”

I’ve heard so many great things about the Too Faced Melted lip products, and these liquid matte tubes were new-ish, so my boyfriend’s mom also decided to give me one to try. This is a really pretty matte neutral brown/nude. It has cool undertones, and it literally stays in place for HOURS. Literally hours. Liquid matte lipsticks really stick to the creases in my lips (I have chronically dry lips), so I have to exfoliate them and moisturize before applying this. However, it looks gorgeous on and I really like the consistency and texture.

My sister also gave me a $50 gift card to Ulta, and a few days ago I ordered a few things I’ve been meaning to pick up! I expect to receive that package tomorrow, and I am really excited to do an unboxing of all of these new fun products!

Do you have any of these makeup products? Have you tried any of them? Do you like the Wet N Wild brushes? Let me know!

Thanks for reading Leaps fans, and in near-future posts you will see a post about my Ulta order, a Vera Bradley order I made when they had their 4th of July sale, a post about new shadows I’ve been making (Leaps of Faith Vegan & Cruelty-Free Homemade Eyeshadow), my July Ipsy bag, and maybe even my Profusion Cosmetics ProBox that should be shipping to my house soon! ❤ There are so many fun things I want to show you all, so keep your eyes out!

Until next time beauties!

Happy 21st Birthday to Me & 240th Birthday to America

Hey everybody!

Sorry I went MIA this past weekend. My boyfriend came home for a very quick visit for the July 4th weekend! I turned 21 on July 3rd, and it was also my mother’s birthday (yes, we were born on the same day!), so there was a lot going on between running to and from the airport, dinners, and family events!

I had the best time this weekend, and it was nice my boyfriend was in our home state for the first time in 7 months! We went to hot yoga with his mom, went to the Melting Pot with my family, and I had my first legal drinks! The night ended with my sister, my boyfriend, and I being locked out of my house, so we had to climb through a window! It was definitely a 21st birthday full of shenanigans.  I also received a lot of generous and beautiful presents, so I will definitely post a birthday present post to show you all some fun makeup, yoga and gym gear, and alcohol related presents I received as gifts!

Thank you for being patient with my blog posts, and if you liked the outfit I wore for my 21st in the picture below, I will list where I bought the different pieces of my outfit!

The love of my life and I ❤

Listed below are the details of my outfit!

Body suit: Garage Clothing

Shorts: Garage Clothing

Necklace: Icing

Sandals (not shown): Urban Bay/Kohls

Earrings: Forever21

I hope you all enjoyed your long holiday weekend! Mine was very memorable even though it was a whirlwind of three days! ❤ What did you all do this weekend? How did you celebrate the birth of our country? Any birthday twins out there?

Talk with you soon!

Ipsy Rebel June Early Access!

Hey beauties of the internet!

A few days ago I received my early access from Ipsy to see what I will be receiving in June’s bag. This bag doesn’t have me as excited as my last two bags had me, however, there are a few product brands I am really excited to be receiving! Some of them are even old favorites of mine! Ready? The list is below!

I will be receiving the following!

  1. The Balm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimon Eyeshadow in Matt Kumar or Matt Moskowitz (Matt Kumar was pictured in my early access so I believe I will be receiving that one)
  2. ColourPop Cosmetics Creme Gel Liner in Get Paid or Swerve (Swerve was pictured in my early access so I think I’ll be receiving Swerve)
  3. Liptini Cream Lip Color in Pinktini
  4. Boo Boo Cover Up in Baby Boo Boo Cover Up
  5. BioRepublic SkinCare Fiber Mask Set

Okay so the cover-up and the mask I can kind of live without, but who knows? I might be pleasantly surprised with the quality or results! I’m more bummed about the mask because it is only a one-time use thing, but it could change my opinion and be a really great quality mask! Also, the cover up may be the concealer I’ve been looking for! We will see!

Now as for The Balm or ColourPop, these are two of my FAVORITE beauty brands and I am soooo excited Ipsy is sending me these! I hope I am receiving the colors that showed up in my Ipsy Early Access because Matt Kumar looks like a beautiful deep burgundy shadow (I’ve been loving burgundy shadows the last few months), and it will come in handy a few months from the now in the fall! Also, I’ve been meaning to buy ColourPop’s Creme Gel Liner in Swerve!! I haven’t bought it yet because I don’t have a lot of money to make too many online orders (shipping costs kill me), so I am really happy I’m going to be able to try since I am subscribed to Ipsy! I can never have too many black eyeliners!

As for the Liptini, I’ve never heard of this brand, nor have I ever tried or used a lip product that didn’t already come in a tube or bullet packaging. This is going to be fun to try out though, because I have a Coastal Scents lip brush I haven’t been able to use so this seems like the product I will try it out on!

So far, this Ipsy bag looks promising, but aforementioned, I’m not as excited for this bag as I was for the previous months. I also don’t like this month’s actual bag. It has this bold graffiti print which is reminiscent of the late 80s and early 90s. It’s cool, but it’s not my favorite print. I think it looks a little over the top. I don’t really understand the “rebel” theme either – what are we rebelling against? I guess it doesn’t matter since we’re going to be looking fabulous with new makeup 😉 But in all seriousness, can someone explain the rebel theme?

Anyway, comment below what you’re getting! Does your early access show you Matt Kumar or Matt Moskowitz? Or Get Paid or Swerve by ColourPop? Let me know!

Until next time,

Memorial Day Weekend For a Military Girlfriend

Hello beautifuls!

It is really late on a Wednesday night, but I just wanted to tell you about my trip to see my boyfriend! As most of you know, my boyfriend is serving in the military, and we are only able to see each other for short trips at a time. This trip we had such a lovely time, and I can’t wait until July 4th weekend (my birthday weekend!), which will be the next time I see him hopefully!

I flew down to see him last Thursday. C was still training, so after I landed I had a few hours to kill. This was good because I had time to write a paper and finish taking notes on some of the reading I had to do for my summer class. He picked me up from the airport around 6:30pm, and together we drove back to post. We grabbed dinner at Mod Pizza on the way, which was absolutely DELICIOUS.

The next day, we woke up early, showered, went and got Dunkin for breakfast, and started on our way to the beach! It’s about two hours from post, but it was a gorgeous day so we didn’t mind the road trip! ❤

We went to a Walmart in town really quick to grab some food for the beach and water bottles for the hotel room. We also bought beach towels because we didn’t have any. Then we drove to the hotel, checked in, put our swimsuits on called an Uber, and went to the beach!

The beach was absolutely gorgeous, and the water was really clean and nice to swim in (not to mention warm!). We were on the beach for about five hours, and later we grabbed an Uber back to the hotel where we showered and dressed up to go out to dinner.

We ate dinner at this place called Elijah’s which was a seafood restaurant right on the river in the downtown part of the city. It was great, and we had a really good time and some awesome crab dip.

My love and I dressed up for the night

Later, we hit up some of the local bars, one of which was an actual speakeasy!! It was called the “Blind Elephant”, and was so cool. – tucked away in an alleyway with nothing but a sign with a silhouette of an elephant, and one lamp over a door up some metal steps. They had a list of special “Elixirs” on the wall, so we ordered two to try. I drank a Moscow Mule which was made with homemade ginger beer, and C drank a special drink called the Golden Ticket. They were sooo good, and tasted really fresh. I took a picture on Snapchat of the inside of this place and didn’t think to save it unfortunately!

We went to two other bars that night, and finally caught an Uber back to the hotel. The next day said rain, so we were able to go to a beach (a different beach this time) for about 2 hours. This one wasn’t as great as the beach the previous day, but we had fun nonetheless. It began to get cloudy, so we packed our stuff up, bought ice cream, and ate it while we watched the storm roll in. We drove back to the hotel early and relaxed/showered/got ready to go out and meet one of C’s friends from college and his girlfriend for dinner.

We ate at a local brewery (called The Front Street) in the downtown area which was a lot of fun. The beer and food were good, as was the service. After dinner, we went to another local ice cream parlor, and we bought dessert! I didn’t want ice cream again, so I bought a white chocolate covered rice crispy treat which was delicious, but C got an ice cream in a homemade waffle cone! We walked around the Riverwalk to kill time before we met up with his friend and his girlfriend for a ghost tour!

Picture captured at sunset while on the Riverwalk

Finally around 8:30pm, C’s friend and his gf, and C and I met at a store for a ghost walk of the city! I bought the tickets the night before off of my phone while C and I were hanging out in the speakeasy, and we weren’t sure how good it was going to be because the forecast predicted rain. It didn’t end up raining, and the tour was so much fun! Our tour guide was a great story teller, and we definitely had the goosebumps a couple of times!

This old cemetery holds the first man in American recorded history who was accidentally buried alive!

We were given these beads before the tour started

Sunday was my last day in town, and most of the day was spent driving back to the airport. I hated saying goodbye to my boyfriend – it never gets easier – but we were so lucky to have had this trip and all of the fun memories we made. My flight home went smoothly, and I came home with so many memories and a decent tan!

I love C so much, and this trip reminded me of how much I want to be with this man for the rest of my life. I can’t wait to graduate, and to start building my career and moving forward with C and our life together. This was a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend, and I will cherish the memories for the rest of my life. It was also great I was able to be in town for such a special time for the U.S. military! ❤ I love my soldier and am so proud of him!

How was your Memorial Day weekend? Any Milsos on here make any trips to see their loved ones?!

My Second Liebster Award! – Thank You Natalie

Hello WordPress loves! I am sorry I went missing-in-action all week. I was visiting my boyfriend for Memorial Day Weekend! Also, my first summer class has begun and it has been taking over my life (so much reading and so many papers it’s crazy). But anyway, a few weeks ago, the lovely Natalie (aka: Disney Freak with a Bit of Mascara!) nominated me for the Liebster award! This is my second Liebster award, and I am very thankful for the opportunity! You all should check her blog out as well, it’s awesome! (Especially if you love Disney!).

“What’s your go-to in a “rush makeup look?”

I usually do a look that makes my skin look dewy and tan-ish. I start with a primer and concealer, then use liquid and pressed powder foundation, highlighter, bronzer, and blush. When I’m pressed for time, this is usually my “no makeup makeup look”, so I top it off with mascara. Finally, I fill my eyebrows!

“What’s your favorite thing about yourself?”

I love how motivated and determined I am in every aspect of my life. I never give up!!

“What are some goals you hope to accomplish for your blog?”

I hope to reach 500 followers by the end of next school year (so May 2017), and I hope to be sponsored by cosmetic companies in the future!

“What do you enjoy to do in your free time?”

When I can, I love spending time with my boyfriend and going on adventures. I also love being with my family, and spending time with friends. I love laying on my dock by the lake, and playing with my dog!

“Do you prefer to watch the movie and then read the book or read the book and then watch the movie?”

I prefer to read the book and then see the movie! The book usually comes first, and is usually always better than the movie in my opinion!

“Do you prefer Disney or Universal?”

They are both great parks, but I love Disney! Deep down, I am a Disney kid at heart ❤ Plus, I want to dance in Disney so Disney is my fav!

“Are you a morning person or a night person?”

Definitely a night person. Since I was a child, my dad has called me “the night owl” 🙂

“Tea or coffee?”

I love both, but coffee is my addiction! I can drink coffee all day long if I had to! My go-to is a Dunkin medium iced coffee with caramel and hazelnut swirl with extra skim milk 🙂

“Bold lip color and neutral eyeshadow or bold eyeshadow and neutral lip color? “

Probably both! This is tough! Recently, I’ve been really into lipsticks, and neutral eyeshadows. However, I love eyeshadow the best, and I love neutral lip colors too!

“What’s your favorite vacation destination\ the place you want to visit most?”

My favorite vacation destination was Oahu, Hawaii, but I also loved the Disney vacation I took in December, and a vacation I took to Puerto Rico back in October! ❤
